Let You Sleep Better at Night!
An independent third-party review
of constructability is key to trouble-free projects. St. James approaches
constructability as a structured review of the plans and specifications
to ensure the project can be built, can be bid, and is efficient
as possible.
We can bring to light problems in the following areas:
- Reasonableness of work sequence
- Comprehensive and completion of
construction documents
- Coordination of the documents
among the various engineering disciplines
- Adequacy of lead time for material
and equipment procurement
- Site restrictions and adequacy
of access
It is proven that significant cost
savings and reductions in change orders can be accomplished through
properly and efficiently conducted constructability reviews.
During the constructability reviews we focus on improving:
- Clarity, consistency, and completeness
of the construction drawings and specifications
- Eliminating sole-sourced products
and product distributors
- Consistency, applicability, enforceability,
and comprehensiveness of the general condition ("front end"
documents)
- Applicability of construction
installation technology, methodology or materials
- Consistency between plans, site
conditions, and specifications
- Identification of project-specific
issues, their probable consequences, and proposed mitigation recommendation
